Enrollment Process
Preschool for All Seats
Frog Song Montessori Preschool is now a provider for Multnomah County’s Preschool for All (PFA) program. Beginning in January 2027, 11 of our 16 enrollment seats will be funded through Preschool for All, with the remaining 5 seats available as non-PFA seats.
PFA provides free preschool for eligible 3- and 4-year-olds whose parent or legal guardian lives in Multnomah County.
PFA-funded preschool at Frog Song is provided Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., from September through June.
PFA seats are filled through the County’s centralized application and matching process. Families interested in a PFA seat at Frog Song will need to apply through the Preschool for All application portal and include Frog Song among their preschool choices. Frog Song does not independently select families for PFA seats.
For children who are already enrolled at Frog Song and become eligible for PFA, Preschool for All has a continuity-of-care process intended to help currently enrolled children remain at their preschool. In order to be eligible for these continuity of care seats, families will need to apply through the PFA portal, indicate Frog Song as their #1 choice for preschool, and indicate that their child is currently enrolled at Frog Song.
Because Frog Song accepts children as young as 2½, some children may begin at Frog Song in a non-PFA seat before they become eligible for PFA. When they reach PFA eligibility, their families may participate in the PFA continuity-of-care process.
Please note that PFA eligibility and placement are determined by Preschool for All, and Frog Song cannot guarantee a PFA-funded seat for any particular child.
Non-PFA Seats
Frog Song will continue to maintain 5 non-PFA enrollment seats. These seats may be used by children who are not eligible for Preschool for All, including children who are not yet 3 years old on September 1 or whose parent/legal guardian does not live in Multnomah County. They may also be used by families who choose to pay privately for a place at Frog Song.
Non-PFA enrollment is handled directly by Frog Song.
To enroll for a non-PFA seat, please email info@frogsongpreschool.org. We will give you the link to our waitlist and explain how to sign up for a tour. Only families that have toured will be considered for enrollment. Families on the waitlist will be contacted when a seat becomes available. Enrollment is confirmed when we receive your completed forms, the $200 registration fee, and the first month’s tuition.
Extended care and summer programming
PFA funding covers the school day from 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., September through June. Families may choose to purchase additional care and programming from Frog Song separately.
We expect to have up to 7 aftercare spaces available Monday through Thursday, from 2:30–5:00 p.m. Aftercare is privately paid and is not covered by PFA.
Frog Song also plans to offer one month of summer camp in July as a privately paid program. Summer camp is separate from the PFA-funded school year.
Availability for aftercare and summer camp will be limited and will be offered separately from PFA enrollment.
What this means for families on our waitlist
Our enrollment process is changing because most of our seats will now be funded through Preschool for All.
If you are seeking a PFA-funded seat, you will need to apply through the Preschool for All application process. Frog Song will not be able to offer PFA-funded seats directly from our waitlist.
We will continue to maintain our own waitlist for non-PFA seats. These seats will be offered directly by Frog Song as they become available.
Families who enroll through PFA may also contact Frog Song about privately paid aftercare and summer programming. Enrollment in aftercare or summer camp is separate from enrollment in the PFA-funded preschool program.
If you have questions about whether your child qualifies for Preschool for All, please visit the Preschool for All website.
Equity and Inclusion
We welcome all who come to learn, honoring differences and our shared humanity. Frog Song and Dharma Rain acknowledge that suffering is a human condition made worse by bias and prejudice toward people based on race, ethnicity, income, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, and other traditionally marginalized identities. We acknowledge the individual and collective impact of privilege, bias, and prejudice in our own sangha and within American Zen. We commit to addressing structural inequities as an institution. We welcome and affirm all who come here to seek the Way and celebrate our differences while harmonizing the one and the many.
