In the beginning of October we acquired a new member to our classroom, in the form of a turtle!
Excitement over our new class member bubbled as children observed her, named her Rainbow Dash, helped feed her, and decorated her aquarium with watercolors, drawings and other festive adornments. And then, just when she had settled in we had to say our goodbyes, so that Rainbow Dash could move somewhere cold to hibernate for the winter. It was a great opportunity for the children to not only learn about hibernation, but actually experience it on a sensorial level!
There she rests! We miss you Rainbow Dash and we’ll see you in the spring!
