Frog Song Summer Camp

Kids Exploring Pond at Frog Song Summer Camp

Nature, art, and discovery for ages 2–5. Frog Song Montessori Summer Camp emphasizes children’s sensorial exploration of nature. Children learn through direct interaction with their environment, and our 14-acre property offers rich opportunities for self-discovery.

Each week focuses on a different aspect of the land, with indoor materials and outdoor adventures reinforcing each other. Throughout the summer, we support children’s creative spirit with mixed-media art—papier-mâché, watercolor painting, printmaking, textiles, and collage.

Examples of Weekly Themes

  • Children exploring a pond at Frog Song Preschool

    All About the Earth

Children explore what the earth is made of—its land, water, and the forces that shape it—through hands-on experiments and stories. They observe the water cycle in action at our ponds and investigate different types of soil with their senses. Using land and water formations, they create models that help them understand our world.

  • Ladybug on leaf

    All About Bugs

Children learn to identify local insects using picture cards, stories, and close observation outdoors. They build simple bug homes, explore different habitats on our property, and use sorting and classification games to compare what they find. Throughout the week, they practice gentle care for small creatures, building respect, curiosity, and comfort in the natural world.

  • Children in Frog Song Preschool Garden

    All About Plants

Children discover what plants need to live and grow, and learn the functions of roots, stems, leaves, flowers, and seeds. In the classroom and garden, they plant seeds, tend to growing plants, and make their own “parts of a plant” books. Nature walks invite them to identify trees and compare leaf shapes, using leaf rubbings and simple art projects to deepen their understanding.

  • Children exploring arts and crafts at Frog Song Preschool

    Nature, Art & Community

Children bring together what they’ve learned about earth, bugs, and plants through integrative nature-based art projects. Using materials from our campus—such as leaves, sticks, and stones—along with paint, paper, and textiles, they create collaborative works that celebrate the land. The week ends with a simple sharing or display, giving children a chance to take pride in their creativity and their connection to the Frog Song community and environment.
