I am sure that many parents and family members have heard all about our music teacher, Sophie!
She comes every Wednesday at 10:30am and every Wednesday, along with other days of the week, children ask, “Is Sophie coming today?!” When she comes through the door there is a very excited commotion as the children cheer, “SOPHIE!” and run to the door to hug her. One of the children’s favorite songs is “Lady Bug,” and below you can see the children using their fingers to make a lady bug creep along their body as they sing, “Lady bug she creeps along and as she creeps she sings her song, la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la!”
And then Sophie hands out lady bug “wings,” in the form of scarves, and the children wave them around as they sing, “Lady bug she spreads her wings and as she flies her song she sings, la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la!”
Another activity the children love is called freeze dance, where when Sophie plays her fiddle the children dance and then must freeze when the music stops!
And sometimes the children play with their wings!
Thank you so much Sophie for all of the wonderful music you share with us, we look forward to see you in the new year!
